Here’s to good food and good ramen. Located in the heart of the city, this lovely Japanese restaurant hosts a menu ranging from not only ramen, but bento and other delicacies. The last time I went was with this friend of mine, for her birthday. We had a pretty enjoyable time, the food was the right amount to keep you feeling full without getting bloated. 

I ordered a ‘Chicken Ramyun’, which was seasoned to perfection. It had the right balance of soup and really satisfied my hunger cravings. Interior-wise, it was quite cosy and busy at the same time so would recommend you to book before-hand to avoid getting disappointed.

You’re bound to come across the most retro things when you step into The Grounds of Alexandria, and The Potting Shed was no exception. The time that we went last time, most of the other shops were closing and there was just this one coffee shop open. We were pretty hungry since I navigated everyone on foot and got a bit lost along the way (not my fault it was the GPS I swear). Going into the little pub I got this really hipster vibe coming off it. There was an exotic parrot that would greet and go up to some customers, the decoration was on the dot, the staff were especially nice, and the food was amazing. All at an affordable cost, I managed to feed myself and three other people, without feeling too broke. I ordered a breast chicken meal with wedges, chicken strips and chips, and although it doesn’t seem like a lot we had to force ourselves to finish eating the yumminess. It was so good, would recommend every time.

I’m always on the lookout for the best of frozen food. I was pleasantly surprised by the gelato that I bought (plus stole off of the other people that I went with). I bought a double scoop sea salt caramel flavour and hazelnut. It was pretty average at most, but the quantity was really huge for the comparatively small price of two scoops. I remembered that I probably could’ve taste-tested the flavours before but I survived. On the bright side, the ice-cream that I stole off my friend had this honey duke flavour which tasted really good, albeit a bit sweet.

I stumbled into this little on the way back from picking up tickets for this concert that I had been dying to go to. It was such a cold day that day and I was so broke from spending all of my cash on concert tickets. Unfortunately the ATM didn’t take card for small change so I naturally got my friend to pay for me. 

I liked the overall atmosphere of the shop, although I felt that the general menu and food weren’t anything out of the ordinary. Although there were some sweets which I would definitely like to try next time I go and actually have cash on hand. It’s a sweet little cafe where you can chat away your troubles with friends and it’s pretty cute.

Cafe / Restaurant: N2 Extreme Gelato

Located in the heart of Sydney, N2’s your perfect place to chill out with your friends, go on a date, or just enjoy some alone time by yourself.  Honestly I hadn’t heard about it till I went with my friend there on her birthday. It’s one of those cute little cafes that’s hidden away in amidst the bustle of the busy city. Honestly I’d say we were lucky that day because the line was comparatively short compared to every other time that I’d gone afterwards. Though it takes a while for the food to come out, it’s worth it, as you get to see the chocolatiers in action using this machine that gives off cool gases. Just the vibe of the place itself is enough to satisfy your food craving.



But getting to the food, I remember ordering a croquembouche and would have to say, the pastry itself was average at best. I was actually eyeing my friend’s dessert which was an Oreo-flavoured treat. Definitely preferred the latter. It was an alright experience I guess, it mostly depends on what you order. I, myself got a bit confused as there’s so many options to choose from.

Eat by yourself.

THE VOGUE CAFE

I can’t believe that it took me so long to go to The Vogue Cafe when it’s just in my hood, I mean Macquarie Centre lol. Well it did take me a while to find it I suppose. Seriously, it was so hidden. I had to get directions off a friend who had visited their before because I couldn’t find anything online. Here’s a secret, it’s next to Myer on the Country Level Road.

But oh my God, the line was so big I felt like the place should have had a reservation option. Thank God, me and my friend went there earlier than the whole group of friends that we were waiting for because by the time everyone arrived we found ourselves a place.

Personally, I only went for their famous drinks, but they do have a range of other cafe delights ranging from breakfast to lunch. I had a really hard time deciding which drink to buy and finally opted for a Classic Nutella Shake, whilst most of my friends either went for other classics or frappes. I have to say this was one of the best milkshakes that I have ever tried. It was the perfect amount of sweet, just the right touch of chocolate and the included sour worms and mini ice-cream cone complemented the flavours really well. Not really sure if I’d go there everyday though since it’s too busy a location for me, but definitely a good once in a lifetime experience.

AQUA S.

You do not know how ecstatic I was the first time went into the Aqua S. at Townhall. Like I had heard so many people talk about eating there and I swear everyone on Insta is always posting pictures of it, so naturally I had to try it out. Well, the first time I had my chance to go, I couldn’t really eat it since I was so full from eating at this other restaurant, but second time lucky right?

I finally got my chance to eat at Aqua S. when this one time, my friend and I, decided to hang out near there. So I walk in, and naturally I have to try all of the topping (whilst internally crying at my pocket). Just kidding it’s not that expensive. Since Aqua S. mostly have different flavours each week, I tried their Sea Salt & Caramel flavour that week and it was brilliant! Topped with caramelised popcorn, fairy floss and a marshmallow, I was pretty happy with my purchase as I clicked away pictures for my Insta (who can blame those guys right?). I would have to say that the only worthwhile topping for me was the fairy floss. It complemented the ice cream flavours really well. The popcorn on the other hand would be good by itself but not really worth it. Same with the marshmallow, you can take it out of the ice-cream and eat it separately. 

Would gladly recommend you to take your friends their because it’s always an experience the first time they try it. Personally, I always go back to it when I'm in the area.
